For vet clinics
The patient's history, with the owner's consent.
A rescued animal arrives with a microchip and an unclear past. With Petdocus, your front desk looks up the chip, the owner approves access by email, and you see vaccinations, treatments and weights — then add your own.
How access works
- Chip lookup. Enter the microchip number. You see only "found / not found", the species and the name — nothing else.
- Request access. The owner (or the rescue) gets an email and approves or denies it — no login needed.
- Provisional access. While you wait, you can see identity and treatments for a short time; no contacts, no documents.
- House doctor. Once approved, your clinic keeps access until the owner revokes it. Several clinics can have access.
Clinic features are rolling out after the rescue features. New clinics are verified by Petdocus before they can request access.
Made for a busy front desk
Receptionists and vets get different templates, and your clinic admin adjusts permissions per person. Entries by licensed vets are signed with their name and license, so the record shows who did what.
- Chip lookups are rate-limited and logged
- Medical entries are append-only — corrections keep the original visible with a reason
- Owner contact data only for staff who need it
- Two-step verification for clinic admins
- Data stored in the EU
Not an official register
Petdocus complements your practice software and the official registers; it does not replace them, and it does not issue passports or certificates.
